Frequently Asked Questions

When will my items arrive?

All items are produced and sent individually when you place an order. your location will determine which fulfilment centre will handle the order and each item will have it’s own production time too. Neither I or Printful (my supplier) want to keep you waiting though so you can expect delivery within 5-7 days for the quicker items and possibly up to a few weeks for the longer ones.

Why do you use drop shipping rather than keeping stock yourself?

There’s certainly advantages to stocking items myself but the biggest hurdles are the initial costs of purchasing stock, the time it takes to pack and send items plus the space it all takes up. Drop shipping means I earn less but it frees up my time to concentrate on videos and also allows a much larger range of items I can sell.

Will you be selling “X” item?

I use Printful to make my items to order and they have a pretty large range so if you feel my range is missing a certain item or design, please let me know and I’ll see if I can fill that gap.

I have a cool design, can I submit it?

I think collaborations are a great thing and I’d love to see your designs! If I feel it would fit within my brand (family friendly etc) we can discuss how to best move forward. Contact me @ alastairclarkson.trials@gmail.com

Can you do more ECO friendly items?

Having made this site and filled it with products it’s been quite obvious that some items are more eco friendly than others. I’d love nothing more than every item to be made responsibly and ethically but it’s a tricky balance. Printful does offer recycled materials in some of their products and I think that’s great but it’s not an option for every item. I’m hoping more options will become available over time and I will adjust to suite…maybe I’ll make a specific menu for the more eco friendly items to make them easier to find. In the mean time, I’ve been fully transparent with where the items are made and any micro plastic negatives they might have, please read the “extra info” segment below the items photos if you’re concerned.

On the plus side, drop shipping decreases wastage as items are only produced when an order is placed.

What printing methods do you use?

Most of my garments use DTG prints (Direct To Garment) which is a digital printing technique that applies ink directly onto fabric, similar to how a printer prints on paper. DTG is ideal for intricate designs, full-colour photographs, and even simple designs and can withstand numerous washes and remain vibrant for extended periods.

I do have a couple of items that use DTF printing (Direct To Film). This is a technique where designs are printed onto a special film and then transferred to a garment or other surface using heat and pressure. Like DTG it’s a durable print that should last many washes.

I’ve also chosen embroidery for many items as this is the longest lasting of them all but has limitations on colours which is why I’ve limited these to just my simplest designs.

What is your warranty?

To quote the European trading standard “In Europe, clothing purchases are covered by a minimum two-year legal guarantee of conformity, meaning the seller is responsible for repairing or replacing faulty goods or providing a refund if repair or replacement is not possible. This guarantee applies regardless of whether the purchase was made online, in a store, or by mail order”

I will be happy to assist with any issues that arise but clothes aren’t bullet proof. Please be reasonable with your expectations…despite my efforts to source the best prints possible, harsh washing and drying cycles can affect the prints over time.

If you’re after the longest wearing items I would encourage you to use embroidery garments.

If you receive any items that are faulty or fall apart unreasonably please contact me @ alastairclarkson.trials@gmail.com and I’ll do my best to help.

Who is the Cute Thief?

The Cute Thief is the real star of the show! He’s my wee cat pal who goes out hunting for bike parts. I give him a rough idea of what I want (the more interesting the better) and he brings me a box of parts for me to build up on my channel.

His real name is Mister and he’s actually the second Cute Thief! The Mk1 was just a cat that liked to hang around the building I used to live in but he had to retire when I moved house.

Rent This Space…What’s this about?

There’s a backstory to this…

…I was at Eurobike with Drop And Roll and I was with Danny MacAskill, Duncan Shaw and Fabio Wibmer. I noticed that my bland black helmet stuck out like a sore thumb against Danny’s and Fabio’s Red Bull helmets and Duncan’s Muc Off one.

I remembered seeing a photo in a magazine from about 1999 where a rider was at a race and had blacked out his bike and put “for hire” on the downtube. I thought it would be funny to do something similar with my helmet. I didn’t really like the wording of “for hire” though as it maybe suggested I’d hired my helmet or something so I came up with “Rent This Space” to avoid any confusion. I grabbed a white pen and drew it on my helmet which gained a lot of comments (but no helmet sponsor sadly).

All-in-all it’s a tongue in cheek design that became quite popular…will it attract sponsors? I think that’s more down to your riding and confidence but I don’t think it would hurt either.

Shipping costs seem high, how did you calculate it?

Yes, Printful's shipping costs can be higher than expected, especially for international shipments or when multiple items are ordered. This can be attributed to factors like product dimensions, shipping destination, and the chosen shipping method.

I personally don’t take any profit from shipping costs

There may be ways I can reduce the costs by having orders fulfilled by centres in the buyers country but this also has the potential of limiting some items availability as not all items are available from all fulfilment centres.

I would love to have the postage be cheaper and I’ll look into ways to do this but in the mean time to offer the best range and least complications I’m forced to stick with Printful’s set prices.
