Digging for more info eh?

Well I’m Ali, a Trials and MTB athlete from the north of England but adopted by Scotland over ten years ago.

I found a love for bikes when I was 12 and a year later discovered that Trials riding really was the bee’s knees so focused on getting better at riding up and down walls and over the many rocks that littered the hills where I grew up.

There happened to be a local bike trials club not far from me so I signed up and started competing. I began my comp experience on a bitterly cold hill in Yorkshire where I came second to last but loved the challenge…after many years my results got better with highlights including being Expert British Champion, 2nd in Elite in the British Champs, 4th in the BIU European champs in Elite, 3rd overall in Expert in the BIU World Champs (including one win) and an 8th place in the UCI World Championships being the first UK 26” rider to get into a UCI final.

Eventually I got bored of comps, especially when the bikes got more extreme so I became more interested in riding street which started a whole new adventure with my eventual move to Scotland to live with Danny MacAskill and Duncan Shaw and joining the Drop And Roll tour which has taken me all over the world.

I also started my YouTube channel to share my riding adventures but also bike maintenance tips and eventual bike build videos which is where the Cute Thief comes in.

He’s the boss when it comes to bike builds. I give him a loose idea of what I want and he goes out collecting cool parts to build unique bikes.

He’s probably more popular than I am now and there has been a huge number of requests for CT merch.
